A former WWE star debuted on Impact Wrestling at Bound For Glory tonight to answer Eli Drake’s much-anticipated New Yorker open challenge, but it was not the man they were hoping for.
Fans were expecting Chris Jericho to turn up in New York and make his Impact debut. Instead they received chinless wonder James Ellsworth.
Talk about an anticlimax.
The crowd were livid, chanting “refund”, “delete” and “f*** you Ellsworth”.

The former SmackDown star defended his not being from New York by saying he had dated someone from Staten Island, referring to Carmella then told Drake he had “no balls”.
Drake, who instantly became the fan favourite, made short work of Ellsworth and asked for another opponent, someone Hall of Fame worthy.
Once again, the crowd did not get Jericho. This time it was Abyss who answered the challenge, having been inducted into the Impact HOF the prior night.
