An unlikely contest has been announced for a USA Championship Wrestling show and it’s between two current WWE names. Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler will battle James Ellsworth on August 5 in Jackson, Tennessee.

The recent news that James Ellsworth is working for WWE on a handshake deal and hasn’t signed a full-time contract has made matches like this possible. The deal suits Ellsworth who earns more money than he ever has working Tuesday evenings and is permitted to work any indie show he desires the rest of the week.
Since his return to WWE at Money in the Bank, James Ellsworth has been feuding with the ‘Empress of Tomorrow’ Asuka as part of the Japanese star’s storyline against SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella. He will assume the same role in her current tale with Becky Lynch.
The current USA Championship Wrestling card will feature wrestling legends such as the Rock N’ Roll Express, Buff Bagwell, and Matt Riviera.
WrestleTalk encourages you to get in touch via Twitter and Discord to discuss James Ellsworth, Jerry Lawler, whether you think the match will be worth seeing, and Ellsworth’s current WWE deal.
