DC Studios’ James Gunn has reacted to John Cena’s WWE WrestleMania 41 victory following recent ‘kissing ass’ comments from Cody Rhodes.
Ahead of John Cena’s match with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, Cody sat down with Michael Cole for an interview in regards to Cena’s recent comments about him never leaving the company.
Cody responded by telling Cena that he had left, as he has been taking over Hollywood, including his role as Peacemaker in the DC Universe, starring in the show produced by James Gunn.
Cody said:
“John’s business is no longer being in WWE. It’s being in Hollywood. It’s kissing James Gunn’s ass.”
James Gunn responded to Cody’s comments about Cena kissing his ass, simply saying:
Oh s**t now it’s personal!
On the night, Cena managed to pick up the victory thanks to help from Travis Scott, officially becoming the record-breaking 17-time World Champion.
Following Cena’s victory, Gunn shared a follow up reaction, simply sharing a photo of Cena as the new WWE Champion and the caption:
That’s right.
Cena is set for only 27 more appearances following his victory at WrestleMania ahead of his retirement at the end of 2025.
He was laid out by an RKO from Randy Orton on last night’s Raw after WrestleMania show, seemingly setting up a title match at Backlash.
