A star of the Japanese wrestling scene has announced they have signed with WWE and will soon be moving to the United States.
Sareee, real name Sari Fujimura, made the announcement at the latest World Woman Pro-Wrestling Diana event.
She is a former Sendai Girls World Champion, Diana Tag Team Champion, and a two-time Diana World Champion.
Other notable promotions she has performed for include DDT, WRESTLE-1 and STARDOM.
She announced (via Tokyo Sports):
“The contract with WWE has been completed, but I’ve told many people that I really wrestle Japanese women’s wrestling and that Japanese women’s wrestling is the best. I’ll prove it. I’ll do my best so please support me! I will travel to the United States after March. Asuka and Kairi Sane play an active part in WWE, and their popularity with Japanese female wrestlers is increasing.”
In other Japan-related news, it was reported earlier that WWE is planning to open up a new Performance Center in the ‘land of the rising sun’ around this coming summer.
