Ring of Honor (ROH) announced last night that current ROH World Champion Bandido had been pulled from tomorrow night’s (December 11) ROH Final Battle pay-per-view after returning a positive COVID-19 test.
AEW president Tony Khan recently spoke on Busted Open Radio, where he said that he plans on lending ROH some support for their final pay-per-view before going on hiatus for the first quarter of 2022.
It appears as though support has been lended, as current AEW star and ROH legend Jay Lethal has been announced as the replacement for Bandido, and will now take on Jonathan Gresham as part of a ‘double main event’.
With ROH World Champion Bandido unable to appear at the #FinalBattle PPV, ROH officials have signed a new match as part of a double main event that truly encapsulates what ROH has represented for two decades: https://t.co/lGYZqRK6A4@TheJonGresham ? @TheLethalJay pic.twitter.com/OqKd6lw2oO
