IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White called out AEW star Eddie Kingston on this week’s edition of NJPW STRONG.
During the episode, White teamed with Karl Anderson to defeat Wheeler Yuta and Homicide in tag-team action. After the bout, White argued that Eddie Kingston doesn’t have the balls to confront him, before noting that he’ll see Kingston in New York.
NJPW shared a clip of the call-out on Twitter, indicating that White has challenged Kingston to a match at the upcoming Rumble on 44th Street event on October 28.
Kingston has now responded to White’s words, writing:
“Hahahahahaha yoooooo hahahahahah yooooo this dude yoooo hahahaha”
NJPW has yet to officially announce the match.
Kingston most recently wrestled for NJPW during the July 24 STRONG tapings, defeating Jake Something in singles action.
The star notably faced off against popular NJPW star Tomohiro Ishii during the All Out pre-show last month. He last wrestled at Rampage: Grand Slam, losing to Sammy Guevara after his win was overturned.
Jay White defeated Kazuchika Okada to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Title at NJPW Dominion in June. He is set to defend the gold against Tama Tonga at NJPW Declaration of Power on October 10.
