Jay White has clarified his contract status, amidst runs with both NJPW and IMPACT Wrestling.
White hasn’t wrestled in Japan since Wrestling Dontaku 2021 last May. Since then, White has been wrestling on NJPW STRONG in the US, and began to regularly appear for IMPACT.
Speaking on The Sessions with Renee Paquette, White noted that he’s still signed with NJPW, he just has a lot of freedom with his contract.
Stating that he has not signed with IMPACT, White said:
“I didn’t sign with them. I’m still with New Japan but luckily, I have a fair bit of freedom where I can kind of go and do what I want so to speak.”
Commenting on his time with IMPACT so far, White noted:
“It’s been fun and fresh, Fresh is always good. Bullet Club has been around for a while now, so keeping things fresh is always good.
“Shaking it up with members, dropping some and adding some more, just so it’s not always the same old thing. Adding the best members and pieces that are going to help us move forward, in my opinion, has been fun.”
White last wrestled for IMPACT during the Multiverse of Matches show on WrestleMania weekend. His most recent NJPW appearance was at the NJPW STRONG Mutiny tapings, which you can read spoilers for right here.
