Former NXT UK star Jordan Devlin has finished up with NXT UK and is set to move over to NXT 2.0 full-time under his new name, JD McDonagh.
WWE has been airing videos for Devlin’s arrival, using his nickname ‘the Irish Ace’ to hype him, including a tweet captioned ‘The ACE everywhere he goes.’
This naturally sparked a lot of jokes in the replies, comparing him to NJPW’s ace Hiroshi Tanahashi, claiming him to be the ‘real’ ace.
McDonagh clearly took notice of all the replies and, deciding to heel it up, replied to the caption saying:
Tanahashi couldn’t lace my boots.
McDonagh is one of many WWE stars to undergo a name change this year. For a full list of all WWE name changes in 2022 so far, click here.
