New IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions were crowned at NJPW Dominion.
In the fifth match on the card, The United Empire’s Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan defeated Bullet Club’s Chase Owens and Bad Luck Fale to win the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships.
This marks Cobb and O-Khan’s second reign with the titles.
After the match, Rocky Romero looked for revenge on The United Empire, but he was laid out by the new champions.
This follows Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan appearing on the May 25 edition of AEW Dynamite where they attacked ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR and Roppongi Vice during their bout, causing a no contest.
The win for The United Empire may lead to a title unification match with FTR and possibly Roppongi Vice’s Trent Baretta and Rocky Romero at the Forbidden Door event on June 26.
