Jeff Cobb Reveals Why He Hasn’t Returned To AEW

It has been about six months since Jeff Cobb made his appearances on AEW Dynamite. The top free agent was recruited by the Inner Circle to be their mercenary, taking out Jon Moxley before his match with Chris Jericho at Revolution.

It was made clear that he had not signed a contract but the door had been left open. However, he has not returned to the company since. Now, we know why.

Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that Cobb thinks highly of AEW but does not want to travel to Florida amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Florida, of course, has become a hotbed for the virus with the state’s handling of the pandemic leaving a lot to be desired.

All Elite Wrestling continues to film at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, meaning it will likely be some time before we see Cobb return.

Since those appearances, Cobb has continued to appear on New Japan Pro Wrestling’s U.S. based shows. He had a brief rivalry with Karl Fredericks on Lions Break Collision and recently defeated Tanga Loa in the first round of the New Japan Cup USA tournament. He will be facing KENTA in the next round. If Cobb wins the tournament, he will get a rematch against IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley.
