Jeff Cobb has now broken his silence after making his WWE debut following heavy speculation about his next move.
With NJPW announcing Cobb’s departure shortly after reports that the free agent had been in contract talks with WWE, all signs seemed to point to the NEVER Openweight Champion signing with the US-based promotion.
While Cobb initially stated that he was retiring from wrestling, he ultimately made his WWE debut at the May 10 Backlash event, attacking LA Knight and aligning with Solo Sikoa.
Jeff Cobb has now taken to Twitter to comment on his WWE debut. Announcing that he “beat retirement”, Cobb said:
“Thank you guys! I’m happy to say I beat retirement and I made it from muscle beach to STL in the nick of time, yeah!!!”
As referred to by Cobb, the new WWE star shared videos of himself at Muscle Beach in Los Angeles ahead of Backlash.
An update has emerged on WWE potentially changing Jeff Cobb’s ring name, which you can read more about right here.
