A backstage update has emerged on Jeff Cobb’s WWE debut, with details about when he signed with the company revealed.
Amid heavy speculation about his next move, Cobb made his WWE debut at Backlash, attacking LA Knight during the US Championship match and aligning with Solo Sikoa.
With Cobb confirmed to be with WWE, an update has emerged on how long he’s been under contract.
Per Fightful Select, Jeff Cobb has been signed to WWE for months, and has been on the internal roster for “quite some time.”
This tracks with Fightful’s previous report on March 13, which noted that one source indicated to them that Cobb – who was referred to in the report as a free agent – was appearing on the company’s internal roster, however Fightful was unable to confirm that at that time.
Dave Meltzer confirmed shortly after this that there had been contract talks between WWE and Cobb.
Jeff Cobb was previously wrestling for NJPW as a free agent. He finished up with NJPW on April 19, losing to Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestling Dontaku.
