An update has emerged on Jeff Hardy’s AEW status, during the star’s wrestling hiatus.
Jeff hasn’t wrestled since he and Matt Hardy defeated The Young Bucks at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in May.
Following Jeff’s DUI arrest in June, AEW suspended the star, noting that he’ll only be able to return if he can prove he can maintain sobriety.
Per PWInsider, Jeff is still with AEW, but isn’t expected to return to TV until his legal matters are all cleared up, in addition to him maintaining sobriety.
Jeff has a pre-trial hearing for DUI-related charges set for October 19. Jeff pleaded ‘not guilty’ to these charges earlier this year.
PWInsider’s report notes that Jeff’s attorneys ‘waived his right to a speedy trial and requested a hearing set for July to be pushed back 60 days to assist in his defense.’
We will continue to provide updates on Jeff Hardy as they become available.
