Jeff Hardy wrestles despite injuries sustained at Hell In a Cell

After dangling from the ceiling of the cell and falling through a table, after having his ear skewered with a screwdriver, after reportedly coughing up blood; yes, even after all of that, Jeff Hardy wrestled on a SmackDown Live house show on Monday in Oklahoma City.

Jeff participated in a six-man tag with partners AJ Styles and R-Truth against Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Monday’s contest concluded when Styles pinned Joe after a Phenomenal Forearm. In the post-match celebration, Hardy attempted to remove his shirt, but was unable to due to pain.

After the show, Jeff shared his customary ‘thank you’ to fans of the town he worked in, which was a surprise to many who did not think WWE‘s 41-year-old daredevil would be able to compete just one day removed from a brutal match with Orton inside Hell in a Cell.

Following his long struggle with injury, a hurricane in the Carolinas, and the retirement announcement of his brother Matt, conventional wisdom would point to Hardy taking some time off from wrestling. Apparently, though, time off will have to wait.
