According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Jeff Jarrett has filed to trademark one of his more bizarre catchphrases.
On July 23, Jarrett filed to trademark the term “Slapnutz”. As per the USPTO, the filing will allow Jarrett to use the phrase for select items of merchandise.
The following description accompanied the filing:
IC 025. US 022 039. G & S: Bandanas; Hats; Shirts; Socks; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts. FIRST USE: 20010000. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 20010000
Jarrett used this term throughout his final run with WCW, often calling people “slapnuts” during his promos. Freedom Pro Wrestling had previously filed to trademark the term “slapnuts” on July 16.
The promotion had also recently filed to trademark some former ECW pay-per-view names. You can read more about these trademarks here.
