Jericho Returning to WWE?

Chris Jericho is returning to the WWE if reports from PWInsider are to be believed, specifically at the ‘historic’ Greatest Royal Rumble being held in Saudi Arabia at the end of April.

PWInsider reports that WWE has reached out to Jericho about making an appearance at the show in Saudia Arabia and it is strongly suggested that Jericho will be at the event on April 27th. No word on if this is a sign that Jericho will be returning to the WWE in a larger capacity or if this is just a one-night-only return for the ‘Man of 1004 holds’.

This would be Jericho’s first WWE appearance outside of his Raw 25 backstage segment, with his last in-ring match coming back in July 2017 when he lost a triple threat match on SmackDown Live for the United States Championship which also included AJ Styles and Kevin Owens.

Jericho has been busy working with NJPW in recent months having faced Kenny Omega in a 5 star classic at Wrestle Kingdom 12 back on January 4th, later appearing the next day to attack Tetsuya Naito. Since then however Jericho has ‘confirmed’ on Twitter that he is no longer appearing with the company and his short spell with them is over, so technically he would be able to appear for the WWE with no prior obligations set for NJPW. However it would be just like Jericho to mislead fans so that he has the surprise factor for his next potential NJPW appearance.

We can rule out WrestleMania for a Chris Jericho appearance as he will be touring with his band Fozzy with his final concert date being April 8th, the day of WrestleMania, in New Hampshire. This means, however, that he will be completely free by the time April 27th rears its head for a return in the ‘monumental’ and ‘historic’ Greatest Royal Rumble.
