Jesse Ventura Shares Honest Thoughts On WWE Backstage Environment After Return WWE

Jesse Ventura has reflected on his recent return to our screens for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 16, 2024.

Ventura previously revealed that he had signed a WWE Legends contract having appeared on the July 29 episode of Raw.

He would also reveal that it was his son who initially made contact with the Triple H-led WWE to make a return possible.

With the first WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event since 2008 in the record books, Ventura has spoken about his return to the NBC show.

Writing on his own Substack, Ventura spoke of the honor of his return to WWE, writing:

“First of all it was truly an honor to come back home to the WWE. First off, I have to thank my son, Tyrel Ventura, for putting the wheels in motion last summer.

“It’s been such an incredible feeling to return to the place where my career essentially began or, more accurately, really took off from.”

The Body would then go on to compare what he saw in WWE today compared to his previous run in the 1980s, stating:

“You don’t feel a battle of egos like you often did back in my day. From the executive level to the locker room level you instead feel a very strong sense of teamwork and creativity. Everyone is running in the same direction. Fuelled by a desire to see everyone succeed, not just themselves.”

He would go on to name the WWE executives he sees as being instrumental in the change, writing:

“I think this speaks volumes about the leadership of Paul “HHH” Levesque.

“I think Paul, Nick Khan, and the team at WWE are creating a truly incredible and unique environment unlike any I have seen before in the world of wrestling.

“I loved being backstage and sharing stories, advice, and laughs with some of the this generations new talent.”

It was previously reported that Jesse Ventura’s appearance on the first of the NBC specials isn’t a one-off deal and that he’s expected to do four Saturday Night’s Main Event shows.

Ventura never held championship gold in WWE but was inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2004.
