Je’Von Evans has named two WWE legends he can go to for advice, having recently worked alongside them as a part of TNA’s working relationship with NXT.
The “Young OG” Je’Von Evans is among WWE’s most exciting prospects for the future, with his high-flying ability separating him from many on the roster.
One fellow risk-taking WWE star who Evans took inspiration from growing up was fellow Carolina native Jeff Hardy, someone he has recently gotten to work alongside as a part of the WWE NXT and TNA partnership.
Speaking with Yahoo! Sports, Evans discussed his fandom for Jeff as a youngster:
“He really showed me that you can really just be yourself, he was literally just a cool dude that was doing crazy stuff. Because of that, he had a connection to the crowd, because nobody was seeing stuff like that at the time.
“He was jumping off the top of the building and still getting up, and everybody was like, ‘Yo, what is Jeff Hardy [thinking]?”
Evans then revealed that he can go to both Jeff and Matt Hardy for advice at any time, something he described as an “honor”:
“[Jeff is] more to himself. If I ask him a question, he’ll answer.
“But Matt is more outgoing. He’ll hang out with us after shows. I got Matt’s number, so I can text him, call him, and get any type of advice from him. Which is just an honor to be able to reach out to those two, especially us being Carolina boys.”
Evans and TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater have the opportunity to avenge The Hardys’ recent NXT Tag Team Title loss to Darkstate, when they challenge the champions at NXT Gold Rush this Tuesday in New York City.
One night before that however, Evans will compete against former Wold Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER in John Cena’s Last Time is Now tournament on WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden.
