Je’Von Evans has shared his thoughts on the Pat McAfee WWE return as well as the promo from CM Punk firing back on Monday Night Raw.
In a move led by WWE parent company Endeavor and TKO CEO Ari Emanuel, McAfee returned on SmackDown and his now in the corner of Randy Orton heading into Orton’s WrestleMania night one main event match against Cody Rhodes.
Frustration In WWE Over Pat McAfee
This move has been highly criticized since McAfee’s return on Friday, with it being the latest in a long list of corporate-based attempts to make WWE more profitable at the expense of the quality of the product itself.
This is something CM Punk lambasted in an unscripted and unplanned promo on Raw, which was said to echo the thoughts held by many WWE talents behind the scenes.
On the latest No-Contest Wrestling podcast, Je’Von Evans gave his thoughts on the whole ordeal, saying:
“I feel like there’s certain things that people that are not familiar or don’t come from the wrestling business don’t understand. And they tend to express that in a certain way.
“I feel like wrestling isn’t like a regular sport. We take this very serious because our bodies and lives are on the line. There’s legacy behind all this. People feed their families because of this.
“So I feel like there are things that some people do say or have an opinion on, and they tend to express that in a certain way… publicly. Why can’t we just have fun? Why can’t we just have fun, make money?
“It’s a selfish business out here. You’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do. But also, you can’t be talking crazy and expect nobody else to talk crazy back.
“You cannot not expect receipts. Especially from the OGs that have been doing it for a long time, that have been through a lot to get to where they’re at. And now you’re dissing them. Hey, Punk was talking. Said what he had to say.”

Does Pat McAfee’s Return Change The Winner Of Randy Orton Vs. Cody Rhodes?
Something Pat McAfee said off air after his WWE SmackDown return was that if Randy Orton loses at WrestleMania, McAfee will never return to wrestling TV.
For someone who has been so involved over the past few years, and for the most part, received positively, that’s quite an extreme claim and seems to significantly raise the odds in Orton’s favor.
However, this is wrestling so even if Orton does lose, there’s not actually anything stopping McAfee from making a return down the line and going against his self-imposed stipulation.
On the surface though, it does seem to make a Orton win more likely than it was prior to McAfee’s insertion into the storyline.
