Jey Uso has shared a curious message after his loss to CM Punk at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, adding further fuel to the fire regarding a potential future heel turn.
The show closer of the November 1 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event saw Jey Uso and CM Punk do battle over the vacant World Heavyweight Championship, which was relinquished by the injured Seth Rollins two weeks ago.
While some speculated that Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed could get involved in the match, Rollins’ absence meant that CM Punk would likely have no outside opposition to prevent him from leaving Salt Lake City with the World Heavyweight Title in tow, and that’s exactly what happened as the “Best in the World” defeated Jey Uso following a back-and-forth contest.
Punk’s jubilation in the post match celebration was in contrast to the despondence of Jey Uso however, with the show’s closing shot seeing Jey sitting on the floor looking up at Punk as he hoisted the big gold belt high above his head.
Taking to his Instagram Stories after the match (see below), Jey shared a screenshot of the aforementioned image, along with a message to his detractors that seems to suggest that he may be set to further lean into his darker side.
Along with an emoji of a middle finger, Jey wrote:
Y’all win
Jey Uso has shown a more cutthroat side to his character in recent months, with Jey’s goal seemingly being to gain a level of success similar to his cousins Roman Reigns.
This new edge has caused rifts between he and his brother Jimmy, with Jey eliminating his older twin brother in the over-the-top rope battle royal to earn the World Heavyweight Title shot at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
When addressing his character change, Jey recently hinted that he was leaning into his old “Bloodline ways” in order to reach the top of the mountain once again.
We will provide further updates on a potential Jey Uso heel turn as they become available.
