The March 17, 2025, episode of WWE Raw saw Jey Uso beat Austin Theory in under a minute, but that wasn’t always the plan.

With Theory falling victim to Uso in under a minute, Grayson Waller would also be taken out, with GUNTHER then turning up to attack his WrestleMania 41 opponent.

GUNTHER wouldn’t fair much better than A-Town Down Under, with Uso fighting back from a choke attempt and tearing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from his waist for good measure.

WWE’s plan for the match between Jey Uso and Austin Theory wasn’t always a squash, however, according to WrestleVotes on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge.

With John Cena’s heel promo being a talking point as to whether it affected the Uso vs. Theory match, the WrestleVotes addressed this, stating:

“This match was spaced out for 11 minutes last night… I don’t know if Cena drawing out the opening of the show affected it.

“I know it affected other things on (WWE Raw), save for this match. But I can tell you that it was spaced out for 11 minutes.”

Following his loss to Jey Uso, Austin Theory has broken his silence to comment after the March 17 episode of WWE Raw.

After the match, it was announced that A-Town Down Under would face Jey Uso and a mystery partner on next week’s episode of WWE Raw in Glasgow.

Waller has responded to a teaser from Joe Hendry that he may show up on the show on March 24 at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.
