Jim Ross Blames Former United States Champion’s Lack Of Success On Laziness

Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, AEW commentator Jim Ross opened up about why it didn’t really work out for Carlito in WWE, and blamed it on the laziness of the former United States Champion.

The WWE Hall of Famer noted that while Carlito may not have been lazy when it came to talking to the ladies, he sometimes lacked motivation when it came to stepping up inside the wrestling ring:

“He’s a good worker. His only enemy has always been his own motivation. He can be as good as he wants to be, so therefore some perceive that he might be a little unmotivated, i.e., a little lazy. He wasn’t lazy in his interactions with the fairer sex because he was a Hall of Famer in that area. If he kept his eye on the prize and wanted to go in and work, he was absolutely extraordinary.”

This comes after it was reported that Carlito rejected an appearance at WWE Raw Legends Night this week, not wanting to travel across the county for a backstage cameo after not being asked to wrestle.

Carlito has only appeared on WWE TV once since his release from the company in 2010, helping to induct Carlos Colon Sr into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014.
