Jim Ross Comments On Stone Cold Steve Austin Potential In-Ring Return WWE

Could Stone Cold Steve Austin be gearing up for a return to the ring at WrestleMania 38? His former colleague and long-time friend Jim Ross has spoken out about the possibility.

There are a variety of wrestling personalities that are inextricably linked but few more popular with wrestling fans than the dynamic duo of famed wrestling commentator Jim Ross and WWE legend, Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Now good ol’ JR has commented on the possibility that we may see his old buddy Stone Cold Steve Austin returning to a WWE ring and competing in the upcoming WrestleMania 38.

Speaking on Q&A Session for AdFreeShows Ross said:

“Steve still has great passion for the business. He’s 50 years old, I don’t think he wants to reignite his wrestling career. I don’t know that the success that AEW has had with a guy that is older than him, and another legend in Sting, has influenced that creative or idea, I don’t know.

I talk to Steve about once a month and more often than not we don’t talk about wrestling. He doesn’t watch a lot of wrestling and I probably watch too much. We just don’t go there. It’s a football conversation or home improvement stuff or food, the grill. We’re just old friends and there are a million things we can talk about, we don’t have to talk pro wrestling.

It’s an interesting concept. He’ll sell a lot of tickets if he’s booked. They’re burning daylight on getting closer and closer to their D Day. One would assume that if he’s going to do something, it’ll be finalized sooner or later. I just don’t know if it’s going to happen or not. It goes online, hits the timeline, and all of a sudden it’s fact. It proves our society is very naive. It’s not that simple. If he wants to do it, I hope he does. It would be great. There is a whole generation of fans that haven’t seen his full presentation inside the ring. I think it would be entertaining for anybody.”

Stone Cold has gone on from WWE fame to continue to stay in the public eye through his partnership with Kawasaki and hosting a reality show Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge.

Closer to home in WWE, Austin is the host of the Broken Skull Sessions talk show, interviewing famous names in wrestling for airing on Peacock.
