The main event of AEW’s next pay-per-view, Revolution, has seemingly been set.
On last week’s (January 4) episode of Dynamite, AEW World Champion MJF and Bryan Danielson took part in a war of words.
The promo ended with MJF telling Bryan that he would earn a shot at the AEW World title if he can win every match between then (January 4) and February.
Bryan agreed to the terms so long as he could pick the stipulation, choosing a 60 minute Iron Man match.
Speaking about the Iron Man match on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross said that the big match will be ‘feast or famine’ for MJF to see if he is able to tell a story for a whole hour.
He said:
“A 60-minute iron man match, and I’m very curious to see how that goes.
“It could be feast or famine, because I don’t think that MJF has had a lot of 60-minute matches to know how to pace himself, to tell that story that continues to connect the dots: ding, ding, ding. I’m not knocking Max. Max is our champion, but he’s got to really prepare mentally and physically for a 60-minute story.
“Again, it’s all about the stories. I’m a big fan of both those guys, MJF and Bryan, but … I don’t know who is better in the business right now than Bryan Danielson.”
Bryan scored the victory over Konosuke Takeshita on this week’s show, and is set to face Bandido on next week’s episode.
