Jim Ross Set To Return To AEW Dynamite

After being absent from the last number of AEW Dynamite shows, Jim Ross is set to return. Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Ross will be in Jacksonville for the promotion’s return on May 6.

Ross called the first empty arena show on March 18 but has not been present for a show since. He recorded commentary for the Jon Moxley vs. Jake Hager match from his home but he has not done live commentary since March.

Initially, the commentary position was filled by a revolving door of people accompanying Tony Schiavone. Cody and Kenny Omega both took their turns in the booth before Chris Jericho took over. Jericho and Schiavone have shown great chemistry and Jericho’s talents unsurprisingly have extended to announcing.

Jericho is scheduled to return to the ring next week as well. He and Sammy Guevara will take on the team of Kenny Omega and Matt Hardy in a Street Fight. This will be Jericho’s first match since he and Guevara lost to Hangman Page and Dustin Rhodes.

It is not currently known who Ross will do commentary with on the show. Whether Excalibur, Tazz, and/or Schiavone will also make the trip to Jacksonville has yet to be determined.
