Jim Ross Details Heartfelt Stone Cold Steve Austin Conversation After Colon Cancer Diagnosis AEW/WWE

Jim Ross has detailed a heartfelt conversation with Stone Cold Steve Austin following his recent colon cancer diagnosis.

The legendary AEW commentator shared news of his diagnosis on Thursday, May 15, receiving an outpouring of support from fans and fellow names in the wrestling industry.

In a new live episode of Grilling JR, the WWE Hall of Famer shared an update on his health and discussed his impending surgery – which he revealed would be taking place on the morning of Tuesday, May 27.

During the show JR revealed that long-time close friend Stone Cold Steve Austin reached out to him following his diagnosis, with the pair sharing a heartfelt 43 minute phone conversation.

JR recalled:

“I was at home and I got a call from Steve Austin, and when we got off the phone we had talked for 43 minutes. 43 minutes.

“Here’s what your friends do, they call you they talk to you and at the end of the conversation they tell you they love you and that’s what Steve did.

“That’s what I got and it cheered me up and made me feel strong, vibrant and he said ‘You’re going to beat this and everything’s going to be just fine, ride or die tough it out’. And that’s what I’m going to do.”
