AEW Name To Help Produce Film Based On Mildred Burke AEW

An AEW name is set to help produce a film based on Mildred Burke.

Considered one of the first females to earn a name for herself in the business, Mildred Burke is a women’s wrestling pioneer and a legitimate trailblazer.

Speaking on his “Grillin’ JR” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer and AEW broadcaster Jim Ross revealed that he is dabbling into the motion picture business, producing an upcoming film based on Burke. Revealing that the movie has already been cast, he said:

“We’re doing the movie, Millie. I can’t tell you who they are but you’re going to recognize some names. I think we’re gonna film it in Savannah.”

JR said the film is based on Jeff Leen’s book Queen of the Ring, which detailed the career of Mildred Burke.

Ross calls the book the quintessential underdog story of a single mom trying to make it in a “man’s world.” According to JR, he brought the book to the film’s screenwriter and seemed to reveal that he will be working hands-on in the production of the film.
