A WWE Hall of Famer believes Will Ospreay would be a great addition to AEW.
At AEW All In London, Will Ospreay defeated Chris Jericho in a first time ever matchup.
In the lead-up to the match, Ospreay mentioned that his NJPW contract is set to expire at the end of the year.
On the latest episode of Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross addressed Will Ospreay’s contract status and stated AEW would be lucky to have him on the roster. He said:
“[Ospreay] adds a lot of quality depth to your roster, and he’s just getting into his wheelhouse, his groove, at that age, experience, so he’d be a great addition if we got the opportunity to sign him up because he can work with anybody.”
On Ospreay’s match against Chris Jericho at AEW All In London, Ross said:
“He’s very creative. He’s not afraid to take bumps. He’s not afraid of contact.”
“It was a really good match. Loved it.”
Will Ospreay is the current IWGP United States Champion, which he has dubbed the IWGP United Kingdom Championship with a new design.
Ospreay is set to defend his title against Yota Tsuji at NJPW Destruction In Kobe on September 24.
