Jinder Mahal Reveals Reason Why Indus Sher Split Up

Jinder Mahal made his return to WWE after a year on the shelf earlier this year, and he was joined by Veer (the former Rinku of Indus Sher in NXT) and Shanky.

When Jinder’s associates debuted, fans were confused as to why only one member of the team had been paired with Mahal, while Saurav was left in NXT.

Jinder Mahal himself recently spoke to Inside the Ropes, where he revealed that he originally pitched to use both members of the team, but Saurav was in India at the time so was replaced with Shanky.

Jinder said:

“So when I came back, I spoke to Vince about giving me the Indus Sher tag team, Saurav and Rinku, Veer and Saurav. Unfortunately, Saurav was in India, so I got Shanky.”

Jinder continued on, explaining that Saurav is currently experiencing visa issues, and he hopes he can join back up with Veer when they’re all sorted.

He said:

“So it wasn’t the original plan, but, you know, making it work, and hopefully when Saurav makes it back. He’s dealing with some visa issues. I think once they get sorted, you know, let’s add more more to the group because the Indus Sher tag team in NXT, phenomenal, great look.”

Finally, Mahal spoke highly of Shanky, who he says brings ‘something special’ to the group. Jinder added:

“Shanky is awesome too, he brings something special. Seven feet tall. But I think we get that tag team, we have Shanky, we have me like, even though we’re a group, we’re still different. You know, we dress different. We have different styles. Everything is different. So I think it’s a good, good group. So that’s one of the things didn’t get yet. But I’m hopeful that it will happen.”
