Joe Hendry Replaced By AEW Star Following WWE Royal Rumble Debut WWE/AEW

Joe Hendry’s WWE Royal Rumble appearance saw him unable to make the Jericho Cruise with an AEW star replacing him.

Footage from Hendry’s appearance in the February 1, 2025, Men’s Royal Rumble Match can be seen below this news story.

Hendry was set to appear at a Q&A during Chris Jericho’s Rock n Wrestling Rager At Sea cruise which took place between January 31 and February 4, 2025.

Details have now emerged via PW Insider confirming that Hendry wasn’t able to get to the Cruise, which ran from Miami to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.

According to the report, Joe Hendry flew from Indianapolis, the home of the 2025 Royal Rumble, to Miami with the intent of joining the cruise in the Dominican Republic.

Plans came to a halt, though, as he didn’t have the documentation necessary to reach his final destination with Hendry spending all day Sunday trying to resolve the issue and make the Cruise.

With Hendry unable to get to the Q&A, it was noted that AEW’s Toni Storm, who recently returned to her “Timeless” persona, would step in.

In a recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show, Hendry confirmed that he had told Jericho that he wanted to keep the Royal Rumble weekend free, just in case his presence was needed.

According to Hendry, Jericho was amenable to the speculative plans, saying that he could possibly “join the Cruise later.”

In the interview, Hendry, who admits to speaking his WWE Royal Rumble appearance into existence, also revealed that he believes he will wrestle John Cena in 2025.

He would also reveal that, even with the “chaos of the Rumble going on”, Cena had a long conversation with the TNA World Champion backstage.
