Joe Hendry is officially set to defend his TNA World Championship on an upcoming WWE show against an NXT star.
Since his match with Randy Orton at WrestleMania, Hendry has been back to making regular appearances on NXT.
He’s been embroiled in a feud with Trick Williams as of late that has progressed across both NXT TV and also TNA programming with Williams making some appearances there as well.
We now know when the rivalry will come to a head.
At the upcoming WWE NXT Battleground event on May 25, Hendry will put his TNA World Title on the line against Williams.
Next week’s May 13 episode of NXT will play host to a contract signing segment with Hendry and Williams both appearing.
Also on the card for Battleground is an NXT Championship match with current champion Oba Femi defending against the winner of tonight’s #1 contender battle royal, Myles Borne.
Meanwhile, Stephanie Vaquer defends the NXT Women’s Championship against Jordynne Grace.
