Joe Hendry Explains Latest WWE NXT Appearance WWE

Current TNA World Champion Joe Hendry has explained his latest WWE NXT appearance and confrontation with Oba Femi.

On the April 22 post-WrestleMania 41 edition of WWE NXT, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry showed up in a segment involving Trick Williams and NXT Champion Oba Femi.

Following a back-and-forth on the microphone, Hendry and Femi worked together to get rid of Trick from the ring.

During the segment, Hendry mentioned wanting a shot at the NXT Championship after failing to win the title last year.

In a new interview with Wrestle India, Joe Hendry explained why he appeared on Tuesday’s WWE NXT. He said:

“So first of all, Trick and Oba are at the top of the tree in NXT, and that’s why I went out and inserted myself into that situation because I have to be honest, this shoulder is growing because this (TNA World Title) is a heavy title, and I’m walking around with this all day.”

“The muscle’s building here, and this shoulder feels a little bit left out. So you know what? I think the NXT championship would look pretty good there.”

“No official plans or anything like that yet, but look, who doesn’t want to be the NXT champion?”

“So that’s why I appeared on NXT, just to insert myself into the mix, and you know what? We’ll see what happens. That’s the amazing thing about this, is anything can happen at any time.”

Hendry is set to defend the TNA World Championship against Frankie Kazarian and WWE NXT’s Ethan Page on Sunday, April 27 at TNA Rebellion.
