Joe Hendry & Former WWE Star React To John Cena ‘Last Time Is Now’ Tournament WWE

Joe Hendry and a former WWE star have reacted to the announcement of John Cena’s ‘Last Time is Now’ tournament.

During WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event a vignette aired confirming the company’s plans for John Cena’s final WWE match, with Cena himself announcing that a 16 man tournament would be held to determine who will face off against him at the December 13 Saturday Night’s Main Event show in Washington D.C.

Beginning on the November 10 episode of Raw in Boston, superstars from Raw, SmackDown, NXT and potentially outside the company will compete for the right to be Cena’s last opponent, with the tease that non-WWE names could take part leading to excitement among fans online.

One of the names who has long been campaigning for an opportunity against Cena for some time has been TNA Wrestling’s Joe Hendry, and in a curiously timed tweet that seemed to be in reaction to WWE’s ‘Last Time Is Now’ Tournament announcement, the Scotsman shared a picture of his face (see below) – adding to speculation that he could be among the non-WWE stars to compete.

Another non-WWE name who took notice of the announcement was former United States Champion Bishop Dyer (fka Baron Corbin), who shared a GIF of himself hitting John Cena with his Money in the Bank briefcase in 2017.

Carmelo Hayes, who was featured in the vignette hyping up the upcoming tournament, also teased his inclusion on Twitter, calling back to John Cena’s famous debut on SmackDown in June 2002.

He wrote:

The official list of participants in the ‘Last Time is Now’ Tournament has yet to be announced, but we will provide updates on names who could be involved as more details become known.

One WWE star teased that he may “avenge” his father by winning the right to face John Cena in his final match – click here for full details.
