Former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry has opened up about his future goals, revealing a personal obsession.
The TNA Wrestling star lost the championship to NXT’s Trick Williams at WWE Battleground on May 25.
While he may no longer hold championship gold, Hendry has recently opened up about his future goals and quest for improvement.
Speaking on a recently BCP+ podcast interview, Joe Hendry was asked if he plans to continue to improve his in-ring moveset, having delivered a hurricanrana at AAA TripleMania over the weekend.
Speaking about his match, which saw him unsuccessful in his bid to become TNA X-Division Champion, Hendry said:
“I mean, I’m always trying to — I’ll always prioritize constant improvement in all areas of the game.
“I’m obsessed with getting better and improving. I think every year that goes by, I think, wow, I’ve just come so far compared to where I was a year ago.
“I’m really proud of the progress that I’ve made and I just always try to have that student of the game mentality. So yeah, I’m all about constant improvement in all areas.”
Hendry would go on to speak about a specific moment in the match that featured X-Division Champion Moose, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and El Mesias, as an example of his work, stating:
“Being 37, you don’t have the same recovery that you had when you were 21, but I still am able to make consistent progress, moving up in weight in the gym.
“I feel like, strength-wise, like I did a stalling suplex on Moose in Mexico that felt like it was a minute long. I don’t think many people in wrestling could do that.
“I’ve done some feats of strength I’m really proud of. So yeah, I feel like I’m improving in all areas constantly. I’m never afraid to go back to the drawing board and rebuild.”
Joe Hendry has previously confirmed that he’s in his contract year with TNA Wrestling, having returned to the company in October 2022.
Triple H has teased the future of Joe Hendry in WWE after the TNA Wrestling star appeared at WrestleMania 41 as the opponent of Randy Orton.
