Ahead of this Sunday’s PLE, TNA Wrestling’s Joe Hendry has commented on potentially winning the WWE NXT Championship at No Mercy.
On the August 20 edition of WWE NXT, Joe Hendry defeated Pete Dunne and Wes Lee to become the number one contender to face Ethan Page for the NXT Championship at No Mercy.
Hendry celebrated his win with his latest live concert on the August 27 NXT where he made fun of Page and got the upper hand over him by the end of the night. NXT General Manager Ava also announced that former NXT Champion Trick Williams will be the special guest referee for the No Mercy main event.
In a WWE digital exclusive following the show, Joe Hendry spoke about his NXT Championship bout at No Mercy. On potentially winning the top prize on the brand, Hendry said:
“This Sunday, I have an opportunity to change my life. To change the professional wrestling business. What I’m doing right now in NXT has never been done before.”
“Please tell me it’s impossible, because everyone would have thought it was impossible for me to even show up, but here we are, Joe Hendry is the #1 contender, and this Sunday, the world will believe at No Mercy.”
