Joe Hendry has revealed his next goal in WWE after winning the NXT Championship.
The February 3 episode of NXT saw Joe Hendry capture his very first title in WWE – defeating Ricky Saints, Jackson Drake, Keanu Carver, Sean Legacy, Shiloh Hill and Dion Lennox in a Ladder Match to win the vacant NXT Championship.
While he made an impression in WWE through various NXT and main roster appearances throughout 2024 and 2025, Hendry’s win comes just four months after he officially put pen to paper with the company back in November.
Speaking with The Sportster, Hendry discussed his NXT Championship win – describing it as a “huge goal” of his, before revealing what he’s looking to achieve next in WWE.
Hendry said:
“That’s the thing I love about wrestling is that it moves forward.
“Winning the Championship was a huge goal of mine. It’s something that I’ve been super focused on, and we got that done.
“Now the goal is, how do I represent NXT in the best way possible? What can I do to potentially elevate the brand at NXT? What can I do as part of this team to help keep us moving forward and take us to the next level?”
When discussing his reaction after winning NXT’s top prize, Hendry said “validation” was one of the emotions he felt:
“Validation is one of the emotions, but there’s a hundred different emotions that run through your mind when something like that happens.
“That’s my way of letting it all out, and then it’s like, Okay, on to what’s next, on to tomorrow. So it’s really cool.”
Hendry successfully defended his title for the first time on the February 10 episode of NXT, defeating WWE Evolve Men’s Champion Jackson Drake.
However, after the match Hendry was attacked by former NXT Champion Ricky Saints, who seemingly staked his claim for a shot at the gold.
