Joe Hendry’s WWE future has seemingly been revealed after his appearance at WrestleMania 41 night two in Las Vegas.
TNA World Champion Hendry was the surprise answer to Randy Orton’s open challenge after his match against Kevin Owens had to be canceled due to Owens’ neck surgery.
In the post-show press conference, WWE CCO Triple H revealed what he told Hendry before he walked out into the arena for the match.
He said:
“I love Joe Hendry, he’s a great talent, great entertainer, smart, respectful to what we do. He’s got a bright future.
“And I was really, really happy to put him in this spot and showcase him for everybody on a bigger platform.
“Right before he walked out I said, ‘You will be here again, so enjoy this one because the pressure gets heavier from here.
“This will be the easiest WrestleMania you do, and you will do more.'”
Hendry is still under contract with TNA Wrestling, but has pretty much been the face of the promotion’s partnership with WWE.
He had a big crossover run in NXT last year, and then appeared as an entrant in the Royal Rumble
