As we previously reported Joey Janela suffered a knee injury at a Game Changer Wrestling show late in September. We later learned that Janela had suffered a torn Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) and Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) in his knee.
Janela has since had time to consult with surgeons and has provided an update on when he may return to the ring.
Unfortunately, the news is far worse than initially expected, with Janela saying he will be out of action for over a year.
Well I met my surgeon today, it’s official I’ll be gone for atleast a year… even worse then I thought, really heartbroken. He said this one was is really bad, surgery next week… 😔 The voyage has never been easy for me, It's a long way to the top

As noted in the above tweet, Janela will undergo surgery to repair the damaged knee next week.
Due to the injury Janela was forced to vacate the WWN Championship. EVOLVE will hold a tournament at their Ybor City, FL show on October 28 to crown a new WWN Champion.
It goes without saying that WrestleTalk would like to wish Janela a speedy recovery.
