Joey Janela suffers gruesome injury (not for the faint hearted)

Joey Janela suffered a knee injury at the Game Changer Wrestling show in New Jersey on September 21st. Janela dove from the top rope to the floor onto Psicosis and landed badly on his left knee.

Janela finished the match and somehow managed to hit a superkick despite his injury. After the match Janela got on the microphone and apologized to the New Jersey crowd, informing them he had injured his knee and was sorry it had impacted his performance.

Below is the video of the injury but be warned, it is not pretty:

Upon arriving at the emergency room, Janela tweeted that the situation was not looking good.

Unsurprisingly, Jim Cornette is not a fan

Janela is best known for his insane, hardcore stunts in companies such as CZW. He is perhaps most famous for the bump he and Zandig took in GCW‘s Tournament of Survival in 2016.

The bump involved Zandig leaping off a roof with Janela on his shoulder as they crashed through a table covered in light tubes in the back of a flaming pick-up truck. Yes, this did send Jim Cornette into a fit of rage. Perhaps rightly so.

However, Janela most recently competed at ALL IN, losing to Hangman Page in a Chicago Street Fight where he was hit with Page’s Rite of Passage off a ladder through a table. The two fought using tables, ladders, chairs, barrels, and the phone that Page had used to try to kill Joey Ryan on Being the Elite.

We here at WrestleTalk wish Joey a speedy recovery.
