John Cena Shares Thoughts On 2005 Hip-Hop Album, Potential 20th Anniversary Celebration WWE/Columbia Records

WWE’s John Cena has shared his thoughts on his debut hip-hop album, and a potential 20th anniversary celebration of the album.

While obviously most known for his Hall of Fame worthy WWE career and his acting roles in the likes of DC’s Peacemaker, John Cena also had a foray into the world of hip-hop, releasing his debut album ‘You Can’t See Me’ back in 2005 after years of infusing rap into his WWE on-screen character.

During the 17-time world champion’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel recalled Cena promoting the album during their first interview back in 2005 – which led to Kimmel jokingly asking whether there would be some kind of 20th anniversary celebration of its release.

Shutting down that idea, Cena answered:

“No way. That chapter is closed. Just like we’re closing the WWE chapter on the 13th, the hip-hop chapter is closed.”

Cena would then go on to say that he is “proud” of the album and listens to it every year,

“I do, every year I try and listen to it. I’m very proud of it, I’m very proud of what we did.”

‘You Can’t See Me’ debuted at number 15 on the US Billboard 200 album charts back in 2005, and went on to sell over a million copies worldwide.

Cena is gearing up for his final WWE match of his career at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington D.C., where he will face either GUNTHER or LA Knight – who will face off in the finals of the Last Time is Now Tournament this Friday on SmackDown (December 5).
