John Cena’s backstage reaction to his match with Logan Paul at WWE Clash In Paris has been revealed by WWE President Nick Khan.
John Cena faced off against Logan Paul in a singles match at WWE Clash In Paris in August, and WWE President Nick Khan has now given some details on a conversation he had with Cena both before and after the match.
Speaking to Logan on Impaulsive, Khan recalled asking Cena his thoughts on Logan, to which Cena said he would give his thoughts after the match, with him later giving Logan his seal of approval.
Khan said:
“Going into that match I said ‘give me your feelings on Logan’. He said ‘I’ll let you know after the match’. Called me maybe an hour or two after the match, and he said ‘he has it’.
“It was never ‘does he have the physical skills do it’, in ring, everyone knows you’ve put in the time and you can do it. But for John it was can you work the crowd with him? Can you give and take with him? Do you know how to follow direction and take the lead?
“I think, certainly from this seat, you proved yourself to him, and I find life is proving yourself over and over.
“So you got Cena’s validation, which to me meant a lot. By the way we expected that you would get his validation.”

Khan noted during the interview that there has been no pushback from Cena at any point during his retirement tour.
