John Cena has commented on his latest WWE run, revealing that he still believes he has more to contribute to WWE.
In the main event of SummerSlam, John Cena was pinned by Roman Reigns. Following Brock Lesnar’s surprise return, The Beast attacked John Cena after the show went off the air.
Earlier today (August 23) on Twitter, Cena confirmed his WWE exit, promising fans that he’d “C” them soon. Speaking on Good Morning America, the 16-time World Champion noted that he hasn’t left the ring for good.
Calling WWE his home, Cena said:
“Unfortunately WWE doesn’t give a silver medal. I think I will try to do the best I can until I feel I’m offending the consumer. There’s nothing like the energy of being in that ring with the audience around. I’ve had the fortunate opportunity to do a whole lot of stuff.
“You know, I think… and I’ve made this comment before, I think I will try to do the best I can until I feel as if I’m offending the consumer,” Cena said. “A lot of times you want to kinda hold onto that lightning bolt. There is nothing like the energy of being in that ring with the audience around you. There’s nothing like it. I’ve had the fortune and opportunity to do a whole lot of stuff…. that energy is indescribable, that place is my home, I wouldn’t be who I am without it.
“The audience is my family, so I love the environment, but I also want to be kind to them and I don’t want to do it selfishly just to do it. I still feel good, even though I finished second, I still feel pretty good. So, I still feel as if I have something to contribute, so time will tell.”
Cena is set to star in Argylle, a film franchise featuring the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Bryan Cranston and Henry Cavill. Shooting began earlier this month in Europe.
The 16-time had previously stated that before he made his WWE return at Money in the Bank, he requested for more dates to be added to his schedule.
