Two-time Royal Rumble winner John Cena opened Monday Night Raw with the announcement that he was entering the Royal Rumble match in an effort to punch his card for WrestleMania.
Cena previously won the match in 2008 and 2013 and reached the final three in last year’s bout before being eliminated by eventual winner Shinsuke Nakamura.
The match will be Cena’s first pay-per-view match since Super Show-Down in October. Remarkably, it will be his first pay-per-view appearance on North American soil since his quick impromptu loss to Undertaker at last year’s WrestleMania.
With the addition of Cena, the men’s Rumble match now features:
- R-Truth (30)
- Drew McIntyre
- Xavier Woods
- Big E
- Kofi Kingston
- Finn Bálor
- Seth Rollins
- Jeff Hardy
- Samoa Joe
- Bobby Lashley
- Dean Ambrose
- John Cena
