John Cena’s Impressive WWE Streak To End Soon WWE

A John Cena WWE streak that has lasted for over two decades may be about to come to an end.

John Cena last appeared on WWE TV during the June 27 edition of Raw, exactly 20 years after his WWE SmackDown debut against Kurt Angle in 20o2.

The Champ went on to become one of the most decorated stars in the history of the company, with a recognized 16 World Title reigns under his belt.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has pointed out that unless Cena wrestles in the next three months, 2022 will be the first calendar year since his debut that he hasn’t wrestled a match of any variety.

Cena most recently wrestled on WWE TV at SummerSlam 2021, unsuccessfully challenging for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship. The star wrestled a number of house show and dark matches ahead of the SummerSlam main event.

In 2020, the 16-time World Champion battled Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Fun House match. In 2019, Cena wrestled several matches on Raw in January. Before then, Cena was wrestling frequently for the company.

The star is currently focusing on his acting career, starring in a number of Hollywood and TV projects. The Champ recently wowed audiences with his lead performance in the Peacemaker series, which premiered on HBO Max earlier this year.

James Gunn has confirmed that Peacemaker season 2 won’t head into production until May 2023 at the earliest, leading to speculation that Cena will wrestle at WrestleMania 39, which airs across April 1-2, 2023.

Guinness World Records recently celebrated an impressive milestone for John Cena, which you can read more about right here.
