John Cena has been announced by James Gunn as being cast in the 2021 Suicide Squad movie. Gunn is the director of the film and put out a tweet today with the names of the cast members.

Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Michael Rooker, Peter Capaldi, Daniela Melchior, Jennifer Holland, Julio Ruiz, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Pete Davidson, Storm Reid, Juan Diego Botto, Sean Gunn, Nathan Fillion, Joel Kinnaman, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Jai Courtney, Joaquin Cosio, and David Dastmalchian are also in the cast.
It hasn’t been revealed what character Cena will play in the movie. However, it has been rumored he will be playing the role of Peacemaker.
Cena has also recently landed a role in Fast and Furious 9. Cena is the most recent of a line of WWE headliners to transition to the big screen.
