In the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 post-show press conference, John Cena declared an important upcoming premium live event appearance.
Making an emotional appearance in the post-show press conference, John Cena stated that he would be competing in this year’s Elimination Chamber match on March 1.
He plans on competing in the match in order to secure a path towards an opportunity to become a 17-time champ at WrestleMania 41.
Noting that he felt that his 23 years of service to the company and doing what was ‘best for business’ afforded him the opportunity to call that shot, he stated that he feels like he’s earned the right to announce that he will be in the Elimination Chamber.
Cena said he was departing to film a movie in Hungary for a month, leaving his future opponents to be determined in his absence.
In an appearance after, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque confirmed that Cena will indeed be in the Elimination Chamber, and has earned the right to enter without qualifying.
John Cena finished runner-up in tonight’s men’s WWE Royal Rumble match, with Jey Uso picking up the win.
