The next WWE match for John Cena as his retirement tour continues throughout 2025 has officially been confirmed.
At WWE Backlash last Saturday, John Cena defeated Randy Orton in the main event to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.
During the match, R-Truth – who is still referring to Cena as his “childhood hero” – got involved, and prevented Orton from striking Cena, with the distraction allowing Cena to capitalize for the win.
In the post-show press conference, Truth interrupted Cena’s interviews and said that “even if people say you suck and can’t wrestle”, he’ll always support Cena.
Cena then gave Truth an Attitude Adjustment through the press conference table.
In a sit-down interview with Wade Barrett on tonight’s May 16 episode of SmackDown, Truth confirmed that he followed up with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, and it’ll be Truth vs Cena at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Truth said:
“I don’t wanna fight John, but if I have to beat him back to his senses, I’ll do it.”
As per the official graphic that was shown afterwards, it appears Cena’s Undisputed WWE Championship will NOT be on the line.
Also newly announced for Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24 is Damian Priest vs Drew McIntyre in a steel cage match.
