A former WWE rival of John Cena has praised the retiring star for his ‘giving back’ during his legendary career.
With John Cena only having 4 dates remaining on his WWE retirement tour, both fans and wrestlers alike have begun to reflect on the career of the man dubbed as the ‘Greatest of All Time’.
Cena has faced off against a number of his former rivals in WWE this year, but one name who he has not faced off against is the former Dolph Ziggler, who Cena had a series of matches with back in 2012.
Ziggler, now working for TNA as Nic Nemeth, spoke to KVIA ABC-7, where he praised his former rival Cena for ‘giving back’ to others in the business.
He said:
“I think a few years ago they (WWE) started calling him the greatest of all time and you got to go with it because he’s done so much, given back to so many different people.
“There was this Attitude Era and almost nobody came out of it, and we had John, and we had to lean on John for so many different things for 15-20 years.
“Having him go above and beyond, become an even bigger star to the world, but the best part to me is when he grants those wishes or when he comes back to WWE and gives back, or when he’s giving somebody advice behind the scenes.”
