John Cena & R-Truth Set To Tie Interesting WWE Record Next Week WWE

Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena and R-Truth’s announced match on next week’s SmackDown show is set to tie an interesting record.

John Cena will be in action on next week’s episode of SmackDown, when he faces off against R-Truth.

Truth, also going by his real name Ron Killings, made his return at Money In The Bank, when he attacked John Cena during the show’s main event.

Truth had been notified just 6 days prior to the show that his WWE contract would not be being renewed when it expired, with him set to depart the company before a conversation with Nick Khan brought him back into the fold.

Two nights later on Raw, Truth rebranded himself under his real name Ron Killings, cutting off his dreadlocks and undergoing a serious character change.

On last night’s SmackDown, Ron Killings once again jumped Cena, laying him out after his opening segment with Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and LA Knight, before Killings later challenging Cena to a match next week on SmackDown.

Truth and Cena first faced off at Saturday Night’s Main Event three weeks ago, with Cena picking up the victory, and they are set to tie a company record with their match next week.

Per WWE Stats on Twitter, Cena and Truth will become only the second pairing in WWE history to have competed in singles match on Raw, SmackDown, Saturday Night’s Main Event and a premium live event.

The other pairing to have done so is Edge and Jeff Hardy, who competed across the shows from 2006 – 2009.
