John Cena Praises Randy Orton For Reaching ‘Mythical’ WWE Milestone

John Cena has praised his former rival, Randy Orton, ahead of The Viper surpassing an impressive WWE record at Survivor Series tonight.

At Survivor Series, Orton and Riddle will do battle with The Usos in Orton’s 177th bout on WWE pay-per-view. The Viper is currently tied with Kane for most all-time WWE/WWF pay-per-view matches at 176, so looks to pass The Big Red Machine’s record on tonight’s show.

John Cena has taken to Twitter to note that he’s proud of Randy Orton. Inspired by the Raw Tag-Team Champion’s achievement, Cena wrote:

“Tonight’s #SurvivorSeries achievement by @RandyOrton is nothing short of mythical. I hope @WWE superstars and @WWEUniverse understand just how incredible it is. A milestone I’ll never reach and ALWAYS admire. So proud of you Randy. Thank you for the inspiration! #Respect”

John Cena last wrestled on WWE TV at SummerSlam in August, unsuccessfully challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title. The Tribal Chief is set to go one-on-one with WWE Champion Big E on tonight’s show.

Other title vs title bouts announced for Survivor Series include Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, and US Champion Damian Priest vs Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.

A 25-man Battle Royal in honor of The Rock will also take place. You can read the list of competitors announced for the bout here.
